Refurbishment of a 4 storey Victorian house provides a modern single family home. The home supports entertainment on a grand scale as well as intimate areas.
The main Reception room houses a bar and chill area defined by features within the ceiling as well as bespoke joinery. The Kitchen reaches out into the garden with continuous limestone paving and full height glazed doors.
Both intimate and entertaining spaces are tied together through the use of rich natural materials and contrasting textures such as walnut, burnt oak, limestone and polished plaster, to create an elegant and tactile experience, where one can appreciate each material individually as well as cohesively.
The scale and impact of the house is heightened through the use of full height doors throughout, glazing over the main staircase, frameless glazing to the kitchen extension roof and the overall lighting of important elements within the rooms as opposed to only the spaces themselves.
